Manipal, Karnataka – September 15, 2025: In a joint initiative to enhance technical competencies and promote continuous upskilling, Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), in collaboration with the Manipal Skill Development Center (MSDC), has launched a five-day training program for 100 artisans.

Training for a Skilled Workforce

The program, conducted at MSDC — a unit of the Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation is designed to equip artisans with the latest technical knowledge and practical expertise. Delivered in five batches of 20 participants each, the training includes classroom sessions, hands-on practice, and exposure to advanced technologies across MSDC’s 18 specialized skill schools.

Inaugural Ceremony

The program was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. A. Ganesha, followed by Brig. (Dr.) Surjit Singh Pabla, Chairman of MSDC, who shared MSDC’s vision of empowering individuals with industry-ready skills. Mr. Shridhara Avabhrath, Manager (Training & Development) at KRCL, emphasized the strategic importance of this collaboration in strengthening artisan capabilities. Dr. B.H.V. Pai, Principal of Dr. T.M.A. Pai Polytechnic, inspired participants with motivating words.

The ceremony was coordinated by Dr. Nagaraja with Ms. Mangala K serving as Master of Ceremonies, while Mr. Ashwin Kumar delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the joint efforts of both institutions.
