Sri T. Ashok Pai

Sri T. Ashok Pai is the youngest son of Late Dr.T.M.A.Pai , Architect of Modern Manipal and cousin of Late T.A.Pai, former Union Cabinet Minister innovative Banker and popular public leader. After graduation in Engineering, he plunged into the industrial field and was Instrumental in setting up many small scale industrial units such as Softdrinks, Fishnets, Elastic Tapes and Ready made Garments. The following narration bears out the fact that he was the promoter of the following  multifarious Industries. He is closely associated with the following joint stock companies either as Managing  Director or Director as noted against the industries.

He is the President of Dr.T.M.A Pai Foundation, trustee of MAHE and also trustee of The Academy of General Education. He was instrumental in promoting and developing an Urban Co.Op. Bank called the Manipal Co.Operative Bank Ltd., at Manipal in 1985. It has been making impressive strides in all the parameters of Co.Op. Banking. He was also instrumental in turning around a Kerala based bank called the Lord Krishna Bank into a profit making and viable unit.

Sri Tonse Sachin Pai

Trustee, Dr. T.M.A. Pai Foundation

Sri Tonse Sachin Pai is the Elder Son of Mr. T Ashok Pai, Industrialist and Educationalist Manipal and Grand son of Late Dr.T.M.A.Pai, Founder of Modern Manipal.

He completed his bachelors in computer engineering , MIT, Manipal, India and MBA(International Business) from Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management Glendale, Arizona, USA (now part of Arizona state university)

He is currently the Managing Director, Best Sellers Apparels Pvt. Limited (Garment Export House, Manipal), Best Sellers Apparels is a leading Apparel Manufacturer based in Manipal, India. The company delivers a range of high-quality Denim Apparel to some of the best-known Brands in the world. Best Sellers Apparels employs over 2000 people across its facilities in Manipal.

He is also the Managing Trustee of Dr T M A Pai Foundation, Manipal, a Non profit trust established in the year 1981 named after Dr T M A Pai, the founder of Manipal, to further the vision & the trust currently runs 10 institutes in Manipal and Udupi areas(Schools, Residential School, Degree college, Law college, Polytechnic and the recently established Skill development institute(Manipal Skill Development Center) with a student base of more than 5000.

Brig (Dr) Surjit Singh Pabla

Chairman, Manipal Skill Development Center

A mechanical engineer with M.Tech and PhD from IIT Bombay Brig Pabla has large experience in command of Army units, multiple infrastructure projects, academics and academic administration. He has been Pro-Chancellor of one university, Vice Chancellor of five universities (Founder VC of three), Pro VC of one university and Director of two Institutes of Technology. His experience in the Army, in addition to command of army units, also includes Engineering Professional Work, Administration and Teaching as Professor at College of Military Engineering Pune. He was Manager Air-conditioning System Design at Mumbai, Commander Works Engineers Pune; Director Think Tank at Army HQ, Chief Engineer (Large Multiple Infrastructure Projects) Jammu and Kashmir and Jt. DG (Design) at Army HQ. He had the privilege of participating in the Indo-Pak war in 1971 as a young Lieutenant.

He as been appointed as Chairman of All India Board for Vocational Education in January 2020. As Chairman AIB-VE, he looks after the Vocational Education Initiatives and the regulatory processes at AICTE. Dr. Narayana Shenoy K

Registrar, Manipal Skill Development Center

Dr. Narayana Shenoy K is currently serving as the Registrar of the Manipal Skill Development Centre (MSDC), which is a part of the Dr. T. M. A. Pai Foundation in Manipal and connected to the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) of the Indian government. He has held various positions at MIT Manipal, including Associate Director of Student Welfare, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Officer in Charge of the Academic Section, and Coordinator of the Department of Continuing Education and Student Counseling.
He received his PhD from Karnataka Regional Engineering College (now NITK) Surathkal under Mangalore University after earning his MSc in Geology from Calicut University in 1985. He received training in the electrical resistivity method for groundwater excavation as part of the Rajiv Gandhi National Drinking Water Mission at the National Geophysical Research Institute in Hyderabad and Remote Sensing and GIS Applications in Water Resources Management at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun. He has also undergone training programs on internal quality audit (for ISO 9001:2000) and therapeutic counseling for teachers in higher education at Stellar Management Consultants Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, and the Dept. of Counselling, Welfare, Training, and Placement, NMAMIIT, Nitte, respectively.

He is having more than 34 years teaching experience at both the UG and P.G. levels at MAHE Manipal. Over thirty research articles that he has presented at conferences and national and international journals have been published. He co-supervised the doctoral studies of three research students.

He was a member of the Academic Council of Mangalore University from 1988 to 2001 and the member of expert appraisal committee, Ministry of EF&CC, Govt. of India (2021-23). He is honored as a Fellow of the Geological Society of India, Bangalore; Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education; the Indian Association of Hydrologists, Roorkee; the Indian Society of Remote Sensing, Dehradun; and the Association of Geoscientists for International Development, Brazil.
He is a prolific writer of science-based articles.
