Daikin Center of Excellence in Refrigeration & Air-conditioning:
Daikin Industries Ltd. is a Japanese multinational conglomerate company, founded in 1924 headquartered in Osaka. Daikin is the world’s largest air conditioner manufacturer. The company mainly design, manufactures and sells commercial, industrial and institutional heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) products.
Manipal skill development center (MSDC) and Daikin together establishing the Refrigeration and Air conditioning center to impart skill development training in the area of heating ventilation and air conditioning. In this center we have following equipment:
- Chiller plant: This Daikin air-cooled chiller with the cooling capacity of 66tkW or 18.8 tons cools the atmospheric air for further utility. The ambient air can be cooled to any desired comfort temperature using chilled water. The water can be cooled from 350C up to 12/70 The cooled water can be pumped and used to cool the air in the first and third floor of the MSDC building. The refrigerant used is R410A. The plant is provided with intelligent control system and air-cooled condenser coil.
- Daikin Duct able Split IDU and ODU: The second floor of the MSDC is provided with a split AC of capacity 16.7TR with separate Indoor and outdoor unit and duct able.
- Window air conditioner: Two window air conditioners are provided of 1Ton capacity with wall split (FTL35UV16).
- The center is provided with necessary tools required for maintenance and testing. The refrigerant charging units provided helps in charging the system with refrigerant whenever required. Cold Room Puf Panel is also provided to monitor the different parameters in the unit.
